what’s up! i wanted to jump back into writing by dedicating a blog post to my freshman year in high school. it was a rollercoaster of a year, thats for sure.
dear freshman year- you were full of laughter, heartache, butterflies and more. the beginning of the year was scary. from not knowing who to be friends with to finding my classes, it was an adventure from the start. i always tried to stay low because i was young and “the older kids were mean,” which kept me from fulfilling my purpose because i was honestly scared of the judgement. i found my friends and my classes (after a few times of getting lost) and life was going really well. i became involved in a club called fca (fellowship of christian athletes) and i never thought i would be in the front speaking about Jesus. i usually am a nervous/ shy girl and the moment that they announced they were having interviews for the officer positions, my heart started pounding and my face grew red because i knew deep down that this is something god wanted me to do. that moment i felt a rush of confidence that only God could give, and i filled out the application ready to see where God was going to take me sophomore year. long story short, i got the position and i am so ready to see how god is going to use me to reach the halls of bellaire high. that same week, i got some news that i didn’t want to hear and my first thought was why is god doing this to me? i prayed and considered my options and decided maybe this was for the best. its crazy how one second you are ready for his plan, and the next you are questioning it. my goal for next school year is to always always always trust because he is using our situations for his glory and masterpiece. dance on his promises!! now that we are on our last four days of freshman year, i am growing more and more excited for sophomore year and summer of course, but i am so grateful for the time i had to grow and start becoming who God made me to be. heres to sophomore year! see ya soon!!
