a draft from April.
todays journal entry was too good not to share-
I know sometimes…. okay most of the time, it’s hard to believe that there’s a plan for all the heartache you experience in this life.
Sometimes it feels like God shuts doors with no explanation at all.. I experienced this in my own life. I had my heart set on Bellaire FCA. That was what I felt like I was called for in that time. I did it for one year and then the door shut. I was so boggled as to why God would let this happen as I thought I was supposed to be there.
As I was on the way to a conference, I got a text that people were praying for me and I was getting great votes to be president of the club. I didn’t even know I was in the running. this happened before the application papers had even come out. I was reminded, that the Holy Spirit was advocating for me. I was not as forgotten as I thought I was.
At the conference they talked about vision. how much I need vision in my life, from God. even though I don’t know God’s full vision for my life, he is preparing spaces for me to lead. In the year that I didn’t lead in FCA I learned so much more about leading and the character of a good leader. I got an opportunity to be the Bible study teacher at a summer camp. I was asked to do it. I didn’t volunteer, I was placed. The Holy Spirit is preparing spaces for us even when we don’t see it. So wherever you are right know, if there’s a door shut or a door newly opened, praise God for it because it was no accident.
I was placed where I am now with more knowledge and maturity in leading than I ever had.
this really reminds me of David’s story. David knew he would do great things when he was 15, but he didn’t get to fully fulfill that until he was 30. He was being shaped and molded in private. this made it so that when he did lead, he was ready and prepared for all that comes with being King. God didn’t just say “oh yea I forgot I told David that… oops.” his timing is perfect. and he is advocating for YOU. He is saying “that is my daughter, that is my son with whom I am well pleased.”
don’t ever think you’re forgotten. you are being molded so that you can walk in the confidence of the Father when it is your time to rise up.
today, I pray that as you are reading this, you find hope that God didn’t forget about you. you aren’t the last one in line for dodgeball to be picked for the “good” team in elementary school. you are chosen by God and for God. just because you weren’t picked, doesn’t mean you won’t be picked.
Romans 8:37 says that ” we are more than conquerors in Christ.” we aren’t called to be okay with an ordinary life. you and I were made for more and the Holy Spirit is making sure you get your chance.
now, go live out your purpose!
